John Hays

John Hays grew up in Nashville before going to Auburn University.  He graduated with a bachelors of science degree in Building Sciences from Auburn's School of Architecture.  John is one of only a few builders in Middle Tennessee who has a Building Science degree.  After college, he worked for Turner Construction Company and was very involved with many high profile projects, including Vanderbilt University, Saint Thomas Hospital, The Tennessee Aquarium and Saint Jude's Hospital.

In 1994, John left Turner to start his own company.  From 1994 to 2001, he focused on single-family residential construction.  In 2001, he became very interested in the urbanism movement spreading across the country.  Soon after, John began construction of his first and Nashville's first new urbanism project, The Hamilton Townhouses.  This new urbanism interest helped John establish strong relationships with some of the area's best architects, designers and government leaders.  Since then, John has been involved in numerous new urbanism projects, retail and office projects, in addition to the residential projects that he continues to build.

John is also involved in the community.  He is very active at his children's schools, he has coached sports, served on the Board of Directors at the YMCA and Saint Paul Christian Academy, and currently serves on the West End Park Design Review Committee for Metro Davidson County's Planning Department.

John's goal is to lead a construction company that believes that honesty and integrity are as important as craftsmanship and quality.  With that goal in mind, John strives to leave his clients feeling excited about their end product and comfortable with the construction process they have experienced.
